WORSHIP Worship services at Salem are grounded in the Reformation tradition, where scripture occupies a primary role. The music used in our worship services ranges from traditional hymns and anthems to more contemporary offerings, and features music from our Chancel Choir, Children's Choir, other ensembles and soloists. When Communion is celebrated, we have an open table: all Christians, regardless of whether they are members, are invited to share in the meal. Communion is celebrated on the second Sunday of the month (except for October and November, where it is the first Sunday, and the month when Easter falls). Communion is also celebrated on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and two of the three services on Christmas Eve. Saturday evening services are held at 4:30 p.m. From the week after Labor Day through May, our Sunday schedule of worship includes services at 8:30 and 10:15 a.m. From June through Labor Day weekend, our Sunday worship services are held at 9:00 a.m. |
